Preparing for your Wedding- The Service Booklet

In preparing for your marriage service one of the things you will do is work with the priest conducting your service to decide and agree upon the on the exact format of the service. You will also choose the music and hymns you want to use during the service.

Once you have done this you will need to get the service booklet printed so that your guests will be able to follow along, join in the hymns and make the responses needed.

If you don’t want to use a personalised service booklet then you can use the Common Worship service books and hymn books we have in Church. Please ensure the hymns you want are in the hymn books we have available.

If you want a service booklet you have a number of choices:

• We can produce them for you at a reasonable cost

• You can produce them yourself from templates we can provide

• You can have them commercially printed

You can of course use a combination - For example, a commercially printed cover to match your other wedding stationary with the service insert being provided by us.

Service format

The minister conducting your wedding will advise of the format of the service and help you to choose readings and prayers.

Organist and Hymns

Arrange for an Organist and discuss your choice of Hymns and agree the music that will be played as the bride enters the Church, during the signing of the register and as the couple leave the church.

Service Booklets

Decide on the format and style of the service Booklet.

Don't forget the Flowers

Arrange with the Flower arrangement team for decoration of the Church.
