Needed Now - Someone to join the team to lead the project communications group
and ensure that the communications strategy in implemented. This does not mean
you have to do everything yourself!
All members of the Project Leadership Team (PLT) and the Parochial Church
Council have good knowledge of the project and are in a position to communicate
effectively about it but the project team does need someone who is concerned
with communications as their main responsibility.
What would you do?
Ensure the project communications strategy is implemented. Personally you may:
write or get someone else to write draft copy for fliers or magazine or press
release; edit copy produced by someone else; arrange the production and
distribution of information material e.g. parish newsletters; enable the
production of project brochure or other promotional material; assist with the
organisation and running of promotional events; approve communications; initiate
ideas for communications; enable links with the media etc.
As a member of the PLT you are a part of all discussion and decision making and
therefore have very good knowledge of all aspects of the project and keep up to
date with all developments. Other members of the PLT have taken a lead in
communications as appropriate in the past and will continue to do so. As
chairman (ideally but not essentially) of the communications group you have the
resources and support necessary to fulfil the communications requirement of the
project.
Please consider if you might volunteer – it is not an arduous role as part of
what is a very able and supportive team. There is a real job here though that
needs doing now.
Thank you for your support.
