So we have had, handbag month (March), Tombola month (April) and now we are in May we are calling it ‘Volunteering’ month.
We know from experience that this event is only as successful as it is, due to the support it receives from willing volunteers. Based on past Summer Festivals we will need plenty of people to make sure everything runs smoothly!
HELP NEEDED – For a whole range of activities, in advance, on the day and afterwards.
In advance – includes delivering leaflets to every property in the parish, donating items, setting up stalls, preparing inside and outside the church, hall and scout hall.
On the day – setting up and operating sound systems, preparing and serving refreshments plus washing up, helping with stalls, meeting and greeting and being part of a relief team so that people taking part get a break.
Afterwards – includes one of the most important activities, clearing away and cleaning up at the end and taking unwanted items to charity outlets.
Any amount of time you can give will be greatly appreciated and it’s also great fun to be involved.
‘Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver’ (2 Corinthians, 9:7).
SWEET STALL – This is always popular, and thankfully we have Sheila Taylor back with us in good health looking after this. As before, she will need donations of ingredients so that she can work her magic! On her wish list, desiccated coconut, condensed milk, cooking chocolate, 70% solids chocolate, stork cooking spread and loads of icing sugar.
DONATIONS FOR OTHER STALLS – We would be pleased to receive items of, Toys and Games, Books and DVDs, China and Glass, Toiletries and Jewellery.
Please bring at any time, no need to wait, especially if you are having a clear out!
Although Handbag and Tombola months have passed! We would be very happy for many more of these items please.
So, please think about how you can help, speak to us if you have any queries, or contact Helen our parish administrator firstname.lastname@example.org or 023 9237 9992.
Items for donation can always be left at the back of the church.
Thank you and God bless you
Sandra, Sue and Vicky
