Vicar: Reverend Andrew (Andy) Wilson
Andy is married to Jacqui and they have three adult sons and two grandchildren. After a career in the IT industry, Andy trained for ordination at Trinity College, Bristol. Andy was ordained in 1999 and served for 8 years at Hosanna, a new church forming part of Broadwater Parish in Worthing, West Sussex.
In 2007, Andy was appointed Vicar of Christ Church Portsdown. Andy has also been Priest-in-charge of the neighbouring parish of Purbrook since January 2019 and is also Curate in the parish of Crookhorn.
Andy is chaplain to Havant & Waterlooville FC, who play in the National League, the fifth tier of English football.
Andy served as Joint Area Dean of Havant from 2014 to 2019.

Christ Church Portsdown
Associate Minister: Reverend Laura Cameron
Laura is married to Grant and they have two daughters and one son. Laura has a medical background and practised as a Registered Nurse until 2010, her expertise being mainly in primary health care.
After many years as a sister in Accident and Emergency and more latterly as a Practice Nurse, followed by six years as head of healthcare, holding the position of a Governor, at HMP Winchester, Laura worked in a detox and rehabilitation centre for drug and alcohol addiction prior to training for ordination in 2010.
Laura was Ordained as a Self-Supporting Minister in 2013 and served for 4 years at St John’s, Shedfield and St Nicholas, Wickham and Holy Trinity and St Columba, Fareham.
In 2015 Laura joined the NHS as a hospital Chaplain and served the visitors, staff and patients of QA hospital for 3 years.
In 2019, Laura was licensed as Associate Minister at Christ Church Portsdown and St. John’s, Purbrook.
Curate: Matt Grove
Matt came to faith as an adult, and soon after began to explore a call to ordained ministry. This led him back to education, studying in the evenings for three years and spending two years at Winchester University studying Theology and Ethics, before being recommended to train for ordination. Matt’s ordination training was undertaken at Wycliffe Hall Oxford. The first two years of this was on a mixed-mode pathway which combined study in college with ministry in parishes in the Diocese of Winchester. His third year of training was a full-time residential year in Oxford.
Matt has been licensed as a lay worked in the parishes of Portsdown & Purbrook and will be ordained as a Deacon later in 2020.
Matt has four children and prefers not to mention which football team he supports when in this part of Hampshire!
Cluster Clergy: Janette Smith
Christ Church Portsdown is part of a cluster of three parishes along with the Church of the Good Shepherd, Crookhorn (CoGS) and St John the Baptist, Purbrook and the clergy minister across all three churches.
Revd Janette Smith was licensed as Vicar of CoGS and Curate in the parishes of Portsdown and Purbrook in 2019.
