From 1st June, Max will be joining us as Interim Minister at Christ Church. Max is no stranger to this area having grown up locally, the eldest of four brothers. His journey to faith began when he was in his latest twenties.
He says, “As I held my first child in my arms I knew there was more to life than the money and career I had been chasing. So the investigation began, and one year later I committed my life to follow Jesus as my leader, friend and saviour.”
Max spent twenty years as a self-employed IT Project Manager, working for major organisations like The Bank of England, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Virgin Atlantic. He is married to Suzy and they have three adult children. For many years the whole family were members of the Church of the Good Shepherd (CoGS) at Crookhorn, where Max played a major part in their ministry to young people. It was there that he began to sense God’s call to church leadership and in 2014 was ordained as Curate to the parish of Sheet (near Petersfield).
We look forward to Max’s time with us. Max’s nephew Jude will be baptised at our service on 25th June – something that was arranged long before any of us knew that Max would be ministering at Christ Church by then!
