It seems amazing that this year’s event is finally over after all the months of planning.
What a wonderful day we had on Saturday! The weather was dry and the sun shone, well for part of the day anyway. All the helpers worked so hard to make sure everything was ready in plenty of time for the start. Our new curate Mark James, who had only joined us the previous week, opened the Festival for the waiting queue of people.
With so much happening, a wander through the site revealed live events, including music inside and outside, choirs, gardeners’ questions, stalls selling all sorts, tasty refreshments and lots of fun for the children. There truly was something for everyone and for all ages and admission was free. With so much taking place how could we single out a particular event or moment during the afternoon?
Christ Church is delighted that the Festival has become so popular within our community and we are so pleased that so many people were able to join us for such a fun packed afternoon. It was wonderful to see everyone having such a great time. We also raised much needed funds to help us maintain our church buildings.
The success of any large event is only as good as the amount of help and support it receives. Our thanks to everyone who took part in whatever role, before, during and afterwards, we couldn’t put on this event without you.
So the dust has settled on this year’s Summer Festival. We have cleared everything away and now we are taking the opportunity for some quiet time!
However, it won’t be for long! Planning will be in full swing shortly for our Advent Fayre on Saturday 26th November!
